JAUNT LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR NEW CEO

Co-Founder Arthur van Hoff to serve as interim-CEO

PALO ALTO, CA – May 27, 2016 – Jaunt Inc., the industry leader in cinematic virtual reality (VR), today announced that CEO and co-founder Jens Christensen has decided to step aside and the company has launched a search for a new chief executive officer to lead the company in its next significant growth phase. Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Arthur van Hoff will serve as interim-CEO until a new CEO has been identified.

“Jens has led us to this incredible point where Jaunt is at the forefront of delivering the promise of virtual reality to audiences worldwide,” said van Hoff. “He’s had an indelible impact as a pioneer in the VR industry and Silicon Valley as a whole.”

"It has been my privilege to lead Jaunt from its birth through rapid growth, $100 million in funding, and seminal product releases to see it become the world's leading cinematic VR company," says Jens Christensen, co-founder and outgoing CEO of Jaunt. "I'm especially proud of Jaunt's world-class team who have created the award-winning Jaunt ONE camera, built the most advanced cloud-based VR rendering system, launched Jaunt Studios in LA, and released the best-in-class Jaunt VR app. After three years at the helm, I have decided that it is now time for me to pass the baton and move on to my next adventure."

As the company enters this new phase, it is looking for a CEO who will continue scaling the media and technology company as it addresses the needs of a mainstream consumer audience. With an experienced Board and leadership team, Jaunt is uniquely positioned to attract top talent that can achieve these goals in such a dynamic environment.

During this transition period, Mr. van Hoff will take on interim-CEO responsibilities with strong support from Chief Business Officer David Anderman and Cliff Plumer, President of Jaunt Studio.

Mr. van Hoff is a serial entrepreneur. Before co-founding Jaunt in 2013, he was Chief Technology Officer at Flipboard. He started his career in Silicon Valley at Sun Microsystems where he was an early developer of the Java programming language. Since then he has started several successful companies including Marimba (IPO 1999), Strangeberry (acquired by TiVo), ZING (acquired by Dell), and Ellerdale (acquired by Flipboard). He is a recognized expert in machine learning, big data, mobile applications, 3D printing, and computational photography. Raised in the Netherlands, Mr. van Hoff has a master’s degree in Computer Science from Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

“As virtual reality continues to explode around the world becoming an increasingly mainstream entertainment format, we are excited about the amazing potential for Jaunt,” said van Hoff. “Jens has been an amazing partner and mentor for all of us. We are excited that he will continue to be involved as we expand our efforts in cinematic virtual reality to provide the best consumer experience possible.”
