30 NINJAS AND LEGENDARY DIRECTOR DOUG LIMAN, CONDÉ NAST ENTERTAINMENT, JAUNT AND SAMSUNG UNVEIL 360° VR SERIES, INVISIBLE

Premiering Exclusively Today on Samsung VR, Invisible is a New Mainstream VR Series
Driven By Major Hollywood Talent

Invisible is Presented by Lexus

NEW YORK – October 20, 2016 – Condé Nast Entertainment (CNÉ), Jaunt, Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and the 30 Ninjas team of Director Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow) and Producer Julina Tatlock, along with Oscar-nominated Screenwriter Melisa Wallack (Dallas Buyers Club), today unveil Invisible, a scripted supernatural drama series created in 360° virtual reality. Invisible is presented by Lexus.

Envisioned and written as a 360° VR series, Invisible is a new mainstream VR series driven by a major Hollywood talent. Directed by Doug Liman and Simon Crane (top stunt coordinator and 2nd Unit Director: Star Wars Rogue One, Unbroken, Edge of Tomorrow, World War Z, Men in Black 3, Hancock, etc), Julina Tatlock, Jerome Sable and Michael Litwak, Invisible stars Sofia Black-D’elia, Olivia Boreham-Wing, Michael Siberry, Austin Caudwell and Lewis Cancelmi.

Invisible tells the story of an old New York family, the Ashlands, whose tentacles reach into the largest corporations and governments in the world. Although they control a large portion of the world’s economy they exist in relative ambiguity. They move without being seen and somehow without being known. That’s because select family members have the power to make themselves invisible. The cause of their invisibility remained a mystery, until now.  Ground-breaking genetic research is about to break the code and expose their secret.

Said Liman: “I started out directing comedy and then expanded to directing and producing romantic comedy, action-adventure and war films - my career is a constant learning process. I’m always in film school. I don’t need to know how to do something when I start a project, but I want to have learned how to do it when I’m done. Nowhere was the challenge greater or more exciting than with making Invisible. With the partners on the project, we created our own film school, learning from each other as we shot and edited. Because it’s in 360° VR, everything we did with Invisible – from the story to how it was shot – was new to all of us. And that’s why it was exciting.”

"One of the top superpowers people would choose is invisibility - and we've all dreamed about being rich,” said Tatlock.  “By creating Invisible in VR, we are able to immerse the viewer into that glam, exotic

and at times terrifying world in a way no other medium could offer. We've taken a fast-moving cinematic story-created world, and plunged the viewer into the story from frame one."

“CNÉ has pioneered emerging formats that push the boundaries of storytelling, first with short-form to live and 360° video and now to 360° virtual reality with Invisible,” said Dawn Ostroff, president of CNÉ. “Developing and producing a scripted series in 360° VR has been a true collaboration for all of the partners and is a particularly proud moment for CNÉ. Invisible was developed as an episodic series with complex story arcs and the added immersive quality, making it a story that could only be told in 360° VR.”

“At Jaunt, we know that innovation in technology and storytelling is what will propel virtual reality as a medium connecting creators with mainstream audiences in the most immersive and memorable ways possible. Working alongside Doug Liman, we were able to leverage his creative genius, and leadership, to break the preconceived rules of virtual reality and push this project further than anyone thought possible,” said George Kliavkoff, president and CEO of Jaunt. “Every medium has its marquee piece of content that helps put it on the map, and what we’ve created in Invisible will be that first journey in VR for many consumers. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing this piece to life.”

“As a leader in the virtual reality space, Samsung has been championing VR and 360° as a powerful and mainstream story telling medium,” said Michael Schmier, vice president of content, at Samsung Electronics America. “Invisible is an exciting new project conceived entirely for VR and 360°, and we are thrilled to offer this immersive, scripted supernatural drama series exclusively to Samsung VR users in advance of its wide release.”

The Invisible partnership allows presenting sponsor, Lexus, to reach consumers in a unique way by integrating into the action sequences the GS F, a powerful performance sedan that goes from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Additionally, a post-roll running after each Invisible episode highlights features of the GS F while giving a wink to the Ashland family’s special power. The VR execution allows the viewer to look around and experience the GS F without the physical vehicle.

All episodes of Invisible launch exclusively today on Samsung VR, the company’s premium virtual reality service, available on Samsung Gear VR. On October 27, the series distribution will expand to the Jaunt VR App, available on iOS, Android, Gear VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and 360° viewing on major desktop browsers. Later this year, the series will also be distributed further in 360° on The Scene, CNÉ’s premier digital video platform, and across select social channels.

Invisible will also be shown in cinematic VR theatres later this year.
