Expanding the world of cinematic VR

by The Jaunt VR Team -

One of the most significant things about cinematic VR is that it expands the appeal of virtual reality beyond gaming to a broader audience. With experiences that range from rock concerts and sporting events to movies and tourism destinations, we can now create a wide variety of immersive content that offers something to everyone.

True stereoscopic 3-D imagery surrounds you and audio comes at you from every direction, just as it would in real life. Simply put, cinematic VR provides a sense of being “there.”

With our initial releases of Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die” and the trailers for our three short films during the past weeks, people were able to get a glimpse of the possibilities for cinematic VR. This week, we’re excited to expand our content library with the release of four new pieces of content which speak to a variety of audiences and interests:

If you’ve ever been to a Jack White show, you know how powerful his performances are. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see Jack live, we’re giving you the unique experience to feel like you have. Download “Jack White: THIRD-D” and feel like you are on stage with him at two of the country’s most exciting large concert venues. Watch Jack perform “Freedom at 21” and “Ball and Biscuit” at the Bleacher Theater at Fenway Park, and be transported to Colorado’s spectacular Red Rocks Ampitheatre for a performance of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.”

ELLE has always been on the cutting edge of the fashion industry and digital media, and we’ve partnered with them to bring you the first-ever fashion shoot in cinematic VR, featuring Jacquie Lee, finalist on “The Voice” in 2013. You’ll experience her studio shoot for ELLE magazine’s November issue first-hand, and then watch her perform her hit song,“Broken Ones.” This collaboration with Jaunt offers a sneak peek at how ELLE will continue to evolve as an innovative first-mover in the media, fashion and technology space as the brand enters its 30th anniversary year in 2015.

Nearly ten million fans follow R5, one of the “foremost up-and-coming young pop/rock bands today.” Curious what all the buzz is about? Find out for yourself, and step into a private recording session as the group performs “Heart Made Up on You.” They’re making waves with their new hit single, “Smile;” now’s your chance to join the band.

Originally previewed at the UK premiere of The Battle of the Five Armies, Jaunt’s journey to Middle-Earth is now available to everyone. Stand outside the Green Dragon Inn, see Gandalf put on a spectacular fireworks show, and feel as though you're standing at Bilbo’s front door.

Our collection of cinematic VR content will continue to grow and expand in the coming months, and we have some incredible surprises to share. As always, we look forward to sharing these experiences with you.
